Religions cry out for peace

In 1986, specifically on October 27, religious leaders met with representatives of various Churches in the Italian township of Assisi, about 175 kilometers north of the capital, Rome, at the kind invitation of Pope John Paul II, who at that time wanted to pray for peace, harmony and unity among followers of religions for the attainment of a more comprehensive human solidarity.

 

"No more war, let us stop all conflicts"

"With firm conviction, we say: No more war! Let us stop all conflicts." These were the words of His Holiness Pope Francis during the closing ceremony of the annual 'Spirit of Assisi' prayer for peace with religious leaders which was held on 25 October, 2022 at the Colosseum. Such words reverberated in the five continents of the world as well as affirmatively and strongly urged world leaders to end wars and conflicts by resorting to the logic of peace.

All the time, people are advised to perform different  physical exercises with the hope of losing weight, maintaining a healthy posture, building strong muscles, and keeping diseases at bay. With this mind, people frequent  gymnastic clubs with the hope of ensuring a life free from diseases.

 

Renewal of Holy See-China Provisional Agreement is an achievement in the right direction

Over the past weeks there have been numerous speculations about the prospects of the renewal of the Holy See-China Provisional Agreement with columnists expressing different views and analyses on the issue.

 

At last after extensive consultations and evaluations, this provisional agreement was extended on October 22, 2022 for more two years bearing in mind that the validity of the agreement first concluded in 2018.

 

Unemployment... a major root cause of chronic problems that societies suffer from

Whenever one listens to newscasts mostly on every radio or television stations, reports are regularly carried out on the percentages of unemployment in various world countries with some of them rising or dipping. Yet, the reports indicate that unemployment is persistent regardless of efforts aimed at ending this phenomenon which wreaks havoc among the new generations. It is a chronic global phenomenon.
