On Divine Mercy Sunday, Christians beckoned to be vessels of grace

During the public ministry of Jesus Christ, he preached a compelling and challenging message of mercy. He called on his disciples to forgive, not only their friends, but also their enemies. He raised the bar for forgiveness and exhorted his followers to forgive, not only seven times, but seventy-seven times.

 

It was a provocative summons then, it remains a provocative summons now.

Sacrificing one's life to save others marks the most sublime message in Christianity. This is the crux of Christianity which calls for extending a helping hand to the needy even at the expense of making personal sacrifices.

 

The Holy Bible includes numerous verses that call for extending all possible efforts to help others. One of them is “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God,” (Hebrews 13:16)

Same-sex unions absolutely rejected by the Holy Church

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith stated on Monday, March 15, that the Church does not have the power to bless same-sex unions, for such blessings, therefore such 'union" cannot “be considered licit”.

 

The Holy See has further elucidated its firm and unwavering position on the issues relevant to the validity of marriage. This position was never violated nor invalidated because it is based on the non-variable teachings of the Holy Bible.
