On December 31, 2022 and at 12:00 midnight, the world will welcome a new year. It is 2023.

The month of December started with several celebrations that roamed Jordan's cities and villages. We were proud to see the smiles mapped out on the faces of children, families, and citizens at a time when Christmas trees were lit everywhere in Jordan, this holy country.

With the world celebrating Christmas, the birth of the Prince of Peace, the Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) in Jordan coveys heartfelt wishes to His Holiness Pope Francis, to Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa, to Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop Jamal Daibes, to all clerics and nuns, as well as to the entire humanity.

In our daily life, people encounter innumerable problems with some of them seem intractable while others seem leading to disastrous consequences.

His Beatitude Cardinal Louis Raphaël Sako, patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans, has recently been writing several fiery articles lamenting the situation of the Christian Iraqis, indicating that their rights are regularly violated which augurs a bleak future  for this country.

Once again, the week of prayer for unity is approaching, and the churches of the Middle East are preparing to participate in it, immediately after the occasion of the birth of the Incarnate and the Baptism of water.

High-quality education is one of the major cornerstones for any country's progress and advancement in all walks of life, whereby without attaining such a goal nations would sink into the abyss of stagnation with a bleak future looming in the horizon. Furthermore, a nation with people of low-quality education can never compete with other nations that exploit knowledge in the service and prosperity of their peoples.

I was delighted days ago to participate in the ceremony honored by His Majesty King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Al Hussein Ibn Abdullah II which marked the launching  of a master plan to develop a land in the vicinity of the Baptism Site. Indeed, it was an event that brings about benefits to our country, relevant to Jordan, namely the holy land, the holy soil, and of course the holy water.

Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on October 31. Too many views have been expressed about the significance of this celebration regarding its pros and cons as well its significance in daily life.

As the world marks the Advent Season in preparation for celebrating the divine birth of Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, peoples worldwide look forward to Christmas with eyes full of hope for the advent of global peace and mercy in line with the teachings of the Prince of Peace.

This is the period when the faithful plead the Almighty Lord for the attainment of global peace as well as for solving the world's chronic diseases represented in violence, wars, starvation, food shortages, unemployment, poverty, and diseases.
