Living the Reality of the Kingdom of Christ

The annual solemnity provides a much-needed corrective against the perennial temptation to view the world through the lens of earthly power and squeeze our understanding of God into that prism.

 

The Solemnity of Christ the King is an occasion for us every year to recalibrate our lives to the reality of Christ’s kingdom and to follow the criteria Christ gives us to enter it, live in it and proclaim it.

The heads of the Council of Churches in Jordan has issued a statement urging the faithful to pray piously and with a humble heart so that the Corona epidemic would be eliminated from the homeland and the world.

 

The statement issued on Wednesday, November 11, adds that "the world has all the time gone through many diseases and epidemics, yet God was the doctor of our souls and our bodies who protects and saves the world."

When Fr. Josh Mayer entered St. John Vianney’s Seminary in Denver, his first year looked a little more monk-like than what some might expect.

 

“It had to do with getting weaned off of the damaging effects of media, and then being able to see them for what they are when you come out on the other side of that,” Mayer told CNA.
