Elimination of global hunger remains an issue of prime concern

With the emergence of Corona pandemic, which put several functional activities at the global level on a standstill, concern has emerged about means to keep hunger at bay in a world  rampant with all forms of violence caused mainly by  hunger and loss of opportunities that turn the world into a place unsuitable for an honorable and respectable life.

August 6-9 period commemorates the 76th anniversary of the U.S. nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki marking the end of World War II. On this anniversary, the world remembers the tragic outcome of using nuclear weapons that have adverse effects on humans, nature, and the world at large.


St. Dominic’s legacy remains vibrant 800 years after his death

In the apse of St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, just to the right of the chair of St. Peter, stands an 18-foot statue of St. Dominic de Guzman. Erected nearly 500 years after the Spanish saint’s death in 1221, the sculpture serves as a testament to the towering, enduring spiritual figure St. Dominic was destined to become in the Church.
