The death of loved ones leaves a scar in memory of people and sometimes it never heals. This scar remains painful with the passing away of dear ones particularly when a husband dies leaving behind a lonely wife or the other way round.
Some people try to transcend the mystery of death by looking for different means to talk to their loved ones who left this world. It has been proven all the time that when addressing loved dead ones, the conversion is directed towards an evil spirit that seeks to gradually control and wreak havoc on the life of the one who performs this act.
The Holy Bible strictly Says 'no' to talking to the dead. This affirmation is explicitly expressed in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament teaches that believers are defiled by their attempts at communicating with the dead, a practice that is detestable to God. While the New Testament instructs believers to seek guidance from God and His Holy Spirit only. This Holy Book reveals that psychic experiences are real but demonic, and that deceiving spirits are counterfeits for the true Spirit of God.
God considers talking to the dead a detestable practice. The Holy Bible says, "Let no one be found among you who... practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the Lord your God." (Deuteronomy 18:10-13)
Our God is a living God. Believers have no reason to seek the dead. Furthermore, the Holy Bible says, "When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn." (Isaiah 8:19-20)
Actually, Jesus is the only mediator we need between this world and the world to come: The Holy Bible says, "For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and people. He is the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5)
The Church encourages Catholics to pray for the dead as one of the spiritual works of mercy. From the beginning, the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them. In other words, it is important not to hesitate to help those who have died and to offer our prayers for them.
On the other hand, the Pope says, "Never talk to the devil," He adds, "Jesus does two things with the devil: he chases him away or, as in this case [in the desert], he answers with the Word of God. Be careful: never dialogue with temptation, never dialogue with the devil."
The Pope had earlier compared the devil to a dying crocodile, who hunters advise not to approach because it can still strike one dead with its tail. Hence the devil is very dangerous, his proposals are all lies and we foolishly believe him. The Pope described the devil as the father of lies, saying he speaks well, he can sing in order to deceive and he is loser who moves about like a winner. His light dazzles like the fireworks but does not last. Instead the light of the Lord is "gentle and permanent".
Thus, when seeking safety and divine advice, one should pray saying, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." Amen
