While reading the Holy Bible, one can encounter a Biblical verse that has a resounding effect on daily life. It is a verse that abounds with hope and gives a profound impression of bright days to come once one can grasp the meaning of this verse.
The verse is, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.' -Philippians 4:13
Reading this verse triggers a smile with joy because Lord Jesus Christ has always been true to His word. People usually feel proud about achievements they make in life whether it is in the field of work, possession of properties, wealth, social ranking, or holding a key position in life.
People fail to realize that they can overcome a lot of mundane problems through Lord Jesus Christ. This great verse explicitly says that when one feels weak, then it is the right time to remind oneself that the devil is a liar and that one can do all things through Lord Jesus Christ who is the source of strength and protection.
Praying “Our Father” includes pleading with the Lord Jesus to provide us with “our daily bread”. Actually the physical bread is not enough. Material things alone do not satisfy. Money, homes, cars, success and even human relationships do not satisfy the desire for the ultimate purpose in life.
The crux of the issue is that the bread that does satisfy is the ‘bread of life’. This is not a commodity that Jesus supplies. He is the gift and the giver. He said, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty”.
The Holy Communion received every Sunday, namely the Body and Blood of Lord Jesus, gives us the strength in life once we have deep-rooted faith that “we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.” It is factual that only a relationship with Jesus satisfies our spiritual hunger. It also strengthens us so that we can achieve our objectives.
