The Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) highly valued the speech delivered recently by His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, during his meeting with citizens of the Irbid Governorate, terming the speech as “historic’’.
A statement issued by CCSM Director Fr. Rif’at Bader stated that His Majesty the King has entrenched national unity and social cohesion among the different components of the Jordanian society--a society the Hashemites had taken care of since the inception of this dear homeland, where all its citizens were viewed as members of one family with no dissection between on citizen or the other on either ethnical or religious bases.
The statement went on to say: "The speech delivered by His Majesty the King is an invitation to all the Jordanians to firmly adhere to the invaluable treasure which we are proud of, namely to have Jordan convey a message not only to its own citizens but rather to the whole world, so that differences would not create a schism, God forbid, but serve as a factor conducive to peace, cordiality and cooperation for the best of societies and human beings, or rather for the entire humanity.''
The statement said: "His Majesty the King dotted all the ''i''s and crossed all the ''t''s by indicating that Jordan's school of thought disseminates unity and solidarity designed to bring about the good for all. It is a sublime school of thought which believes that a certain citizen is different from the other by one's determination and endeavor to serve all shades of society at all levels.
The statement added:"Responding to His Majesty's call to confront whatever impedes preservation of the homeland's achievements and its genuine image, the CCSM firmly supports His Majesty's steps and noble directives. We strongly approve of preserving our social and national fabric, at a time when we all serve as an impregnable bulwark against discourses of hatred, bigotry and cancellation of others."
The statement concluded:"It is necessary nowadays to preserve national unity, safeguard our achievements and preserve cooperation among all citizens on the bases of sound citizenry as well as of equality in rights and duties.
