His Holiness Pope Francis had earlier said that Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother of the Church. She is also the mother of all the people who need a passionate mother, those who lost their mothers, those suffering from illnesses, and those who lost hope in life, as well as others who need a divine Mother whose care for her children is infallible.
A MIRACLE THAT DATES BACK TO 1531
Virgin Mary is known as the Mother of Miracles since whoever seeks Her help is never failed. Blessed Mary said, "Do not worry about illness or about any other misfortune. Am I, your Mother, not here at your side? Are you not protected by my shadow? Am I not your safety?" This is what the humble Indio, Juan Diego of Cuautilan, heard these words on the lips of the Blessed Virgin, in December 1531, at the foot of Tepeyac Hill, today called Guadalupe, after asking Her for the healing of a relative.
A 2020 MIRACLE: "OUR LADY IS ALWAYS CLOSE IN OUR PAIN"
According to accounts from a hospital in Bogotá, Colombia, witnesses say that Virgin Mary appeared to COVID-19 patients, on May 12, 2020, according to Colombian television program Primer Impacto of Univisión network.
The photos show Our Lady in the hospital’s chapel and corridor. Employees of the Reina Sofía Clinic in Bogotá say that Our Lady visited the sick.
A doctor said he took the images at the end of his night shift. He noticed the figure of Blessed Mary in unusual places, including at a corridor and in the chapel.
Witness William Pinzón said he is certain that it is the Virgin Mary. He explains that the second image seen in the hallway was much clearer.
“She largely manifests herself and does not manifest herself on the floor, she manifests herself levitating–she never touches the floor,” She is visiting the sick in the world of COVID, because it hurts her. She is a loving mother,” he explains.
This apparition reminds us that Our Lady is always close in our pain, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As humanity suffers nowadays from wars, violence, persecution, homelessness, famine, while experiencing different form of suffering, we are called upon to conduct a special mission in the new evangelization and to find inspiration in Blessed Mary, Mother of love and human pain. The Mother of Jesus is the model and guide of this effective proclamation, since she "places herself between her Son and mankind in the reality of their wants, needs and sufferings.
BLESSED MARY'S APPARITIONS
Blessed Mary made several apparitions over the past centuries, yet among the most prominent ones is in Lourdes, France, where on February 11. 1858, 'a petite damsel' spoke to 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous in the grotto of Massabielle about a mile from the southern French town of Lourdes. The lady, who appeared 17 further times, revealed herself to be Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and asked that a chapel be built on that spot.
Another important apparition of Blessed Mary was at Ftima, Portugal between May 13 and October 13,1917, when 'a lady more brilliant than the sun' appeared six times to three Portuguese shepherd children, Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto. The lady asked them to devote themselves to the Holy Trinity and to pray the Rosary every day; prayer would end the Great War then still raging. She also showed them a vision of hell and entrusted them with three secrets.

O Virgin of Miracles, take my heart
and unite it to your Immaculate Heart.
Deliver my innermost yearnings
to the Sacred Heart of your Son Jesus
and to His mercy and to the power
of your Spouse, the Holy Spirit,
in Whom everything worthy
of the Kingdom of God is possible. Amen
