Since the early days of life on Earth, blood was shed and conflicts erupted. This is first reported in the Holy Bible with reference to Cain and Abel.
The Holy Bible states that "Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast."
"Then the Lord said to Cain, 'Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it. Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.' While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him."
With this incident of bloodshed, the world continues moving from time to time in the whirlpool of bloodshed and violence. Not a day passes without bloodshed carried out intentionally to suffice selfish interests ignoring the will of the Lord in the Ten Commandments which states, "Thou Shalt not kill."
As one looks around, one gets tired of wars wreaking havoc in various parts of the world with large sums of money spent on the production of deadly weapons rather than spending these exorbitant sums on the welfare of humanity including education, food production, healthcare projects, and employment among others.
As people long to maintain peace and stillness in the depths of heart, suffering continues affecting every walk of life. Mediations are continuously launched to end raging global conflicts but to no avail as the killing machines of wars continue to plough into nations' future.
What is needed at the moment is to replace the logic of violence by resorting to the logic of dialogue based on promoting the logic of peace which leads to prosperity of souls, and minds leading to a bright future for humanity.
All peoples share a responsibility when it comes to creating a better world enjoying peace. It is a mélange of several factors that ultimately lead to peace. Among the major factors in this regard is "peace education", in its capacity as the foundation of progress because it enables people to make wise choices that determine their own paths of life.
It is also important to support peace initiatives, as we can also educate ourselves about the causes of violence and civil war, the value of nonviolence, and respect for humanity, and to educate others about these issues. Among other important factors are supporting peace initiatives, standing for social justice and human rights, as well celebrated and support celebrating a day for international peace.
Despite all these mentioned factors which are designed to attain global peace, there is another important factor in this regard that is generally ignored, namely the spiritual factor which implies that peace has all the times been the divine message which had been conveyed by Lord Jesus Christ during His life in our world. The core message of the Lord is "love" and with the prevalence of love then peace is instantly ushered in. Once peoples of the world seek the Lord's genuine love, then real and perpetual peace sets in.
The Lord said, "So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other." (John 13:34)
He also said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27)
