In a world abounding with sins represented in crimes, lust for power and wealth, and illicit behaviors among others, people wonder about the best method to be followed in order to wash away all sins and ensure a new start of a life filled with divine blessings and saintly approaches in all walks of life.
For some time, the answer to this critical situation has been left vague until the time when the incarnated God, Lord Jesus Christ, descended to our world in the hope of putting everything in the right place as well as taking humanity by his loving and divine hands to the world of safety through His vicarious death on the Cross.
Lord Jesus Christ has been the nonpareil divine message of salvation, as the Holy Bible refers to Him saying: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. (John1:1-3)
One of the relevant and remarkable events mentioned in the Hoy Bible is: “Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery and made her stand in the middle. They said to him, ‘Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?’ They said this to test him, so that they could have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger. But when they continued asking him, he straightened up and said to them, ‘Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her'." (John 8:3)
Jesus came into the world to bring us freedom from the slavery of sin. He told the woman to sin no more, and made it clear that what the woman did was definitely wrong. He freed her from the bonds of her sins by forgiving her and gave her a second chance in life.
This is the merciful Lord Who opens the gates wide for forgiveness and just like this woman, when you feel judged by others, we know that Jesus will defend us.
Another important event mentioned in the Holy Bible is when Martha's brother Lazarus died. Martha addressed Lord Jesus who came four days after Lazarus' death saying, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would have not died."Jesus said, "Lazarus our friend sleeps; but I go that I may awake him out of sleep." He also said, "I am the resurrection and the life: He that believeth in me, although he be dead, shall live."
As Christians mark the Feast of the Resurrection, it is important to plead with the Prince of the Resurrection to help in the resurrection of the world from the prevalent sins of violence, hatred, wars, crimes, as well as lust for power and wealth among others by bringing peace, love, and harmony among all peoples.
It is also important to note that the Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus is celebrated 52 Sundays a year. In perspective, we celebrate the Resurrection Sunday every Sunday of the year and every day when a Holy Mass is celebrated. Jesus died on the Cross, and shed His precious blood to cleanse the sins of humanity and to give eternal life to all those who believe in Him in His capacity as the Prince of Peace and the Savior of the world.
Let the world peoples emulate Lord Jesus' message of love and peace and be clothed with the dress of mercy and common living.
