The Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) in Jordan has denounced the cowardly terrorist act which took place today, June 21, on the northeastern border, leading to the martyrdom of several personnel of the heroic Jordan Armed Forces and security apparatuses who died while defending their homeland, their leadership, and their people.

A CCSM statement issued today, June 21, and signed by CCSM Director Fr. Rif'at Bader, said that terrorism reveals anew the extent of its barbarism, brutality as well as its disavowal of all humanitarian, religious and moral values.

The statement added that this ugly deed perpetrated in the holy month of Ramadan, reiterates what Jordan had confirmed that terrorism has no religion. But, we are called upon today to pray in our mosques, churches and homes asking the Merciful God, in this Year of Mercy, to have His mercy on the souls of the pure martyrs and heroes, to provide the wounded with a speedy recovery, to preserve the Jordanian family under the wise Hashemite leadership, as well as to maintain the awareness and cohesion of its people. National unity is our invaluable and our impregnable bulwark. It is our major shield with which we confront the forces of extremism and bigotry which lead to terrorism.

The CCSM statement concluded saying: May God have mercy on the martyrs and provide the wounded with a speedy recovery. May God protect our Hashemite leadership and safeguarded our inevitable national unity.
